Shady Records artist Yelawolf has announced a final November 21st release date for his debut album Radioactive. The album, which was initially set to hit shelves on September 27th and later pushed back to October 24th, will be released on Ghet-O-Vision, Shady Records, and Interscope Records.

When asked about the delay, Yelawolf said, “I needed to add some important finishing touches to the album, which resulted in the new release date. I have some surprises in store for the fans that have to be seen before the album comes out. It’s definitely worth the wait.”

Confirmed features for the album include Lil Jon, Eminem, Gangsta Boo, Royce Da 5’9″, Kid Rock, and Fefe Dobson with production from Travis Barker, Jim Jonsin, Hydrox, and Diplo.

Eminem protégé Yelawolf has finally revealed the title of his first single from his highly anticipated Shady Records debut, 'Radioactive.'

In a three-way recording studio interview with Texas rap hero Chamillionaire and G.O.O.D. Music artist CyHi Da Prynce, Yela announced that his lead single will be titled 'Gangster of Love,' and will feature a guest appearance by CyHi, who previously appeared on his 'I Wish (Remix).'

"My three little things today are rapping, skateboarding and Jack Daniels," Yela told 3 Little Digs, with a smile, before breaking the news. While the Gadsden, Ala. native continues to churn out guest appearances, freestyles and other blog fodder, he has been quiet regarding the features on his debut album, though he did recently reveal that Eminem will be contributing some production work to the project.

"He was just excited man, which made me even more excited about it," Yela said in an interview with ImFlashy. "So we set up some time to work for Marshall to get in and do some production on it and do some arrangements, of course, for music. Kind of to coach the album. I get besides myself thinking, really thinking of having him to really go to for advice on how to structure records and just whatever possible. Just using the genius. He's psyched."

Yelawolf continued to say that the features and concepts will give his album a more universal appeal, calling his 'Radioactive' debut "patriotic."

"'Radioactive' exemplifies my inspirations, rather than just putting out music that's just regional and more influenced with what's going on in my corner," he explained. "It's more influenced with what's going on in the world. It's patriotic, in a sense. I'm really taking on America's problems and issues, good and bad, on some records, and bringing in influences from early childhood to now and not just sticking to one formula but actually bringing in features and to just broaden the sound. Yelawolf is working closely with Eminem on his upcoming Shady Records debut, Radioactive. The Alabama spitter recently revealed he put in studio time with Marshall after recording the album during a two-week period at Marley Marl’s Las Vegas studio.

After laying down the LP, Yela played the work-in-progress for Em. “He was just excited man, which made me even more excited about it,” he told ImFlashy.com. “So we set up some time to work for Marshall to get in and do some production on it and do some arrangements, of course, for music. Kind of to coach the album. I get besides myself thinking really thinking of having him to really go to for advice on how to structure records and just whatever possible. Just using the genius. It’s about to get real Shady in here. Following their “2.0 Boys” collaboration, Eminem is planning to team up again with Yelawolf for the Shady Records signee’s new album, reveals Jim Jonsin.

The hitmaker, who is producing for Yela’s forthcoming Shady debut Radioactive, is slated to hit the studio with both rappers in the coming weeks. “We’re actually scheduling a session with me, Yela, and Eminem to work on his project,” he tells Rap-Up.com. “I’m eager to see how that turns out. That’s gonna be a great session. He’s got a lot of good stuff already recorded and we’re just gonna try and see where we can go, the three of us.”

The album, which also includes production from Diplo, The Audibles, and Pooh Bear, is shaping up nicely. “It sounds really good,” he adds. “Me and Yela have done quite a few songs over the past two years. I think we’ll probably cut four or five more songs before his album’s gonna be due.” Rap-Up

Jonsin has remained an avid supporter of the Alabama rapper. “Yelawolf has this amazing energy and sound. His voice cuts like a knife and his delivery as a rap artist is kinda similar in a lot of ways to Eminem, where he’s really sharp and he can rap super fast and he’s really clear. But he’s nothing like Eminem in the sense that they’re two totally different artists.”

The “Space Bound” producer was instrumental in getting Yela signed to Em’s label. “I thought if Eminem got behind Yelawolf, it would help. It would be a huge stamp on his career. I actually mentioned to Eminem in our session that he should listen to Yelawolf and give him a shot because he’s the real deal and he’s cut from the same cloth, so I think he took that into consideration when thinking about signing him. I hope I had something to do with that.”

hardknock.tv Exclusive in-depth interview with all four members of Slaugherhouse (‬Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9")‪. In part 1 of this interview Nick Huff Barili asks ‬Slaughterhouse about the new album and if they are looking to make it more introspective than their previous group album, which was extremely lyrical but lacked some of the more personal insight that made them stand out as solo artists. All four members said that you can expect a lot more personal material in the album and that you have to keep in mind that their previous album had to be done in 6 days with a stripped down budget.

Slaughterhouse explain how the Shady deal is different than their previous label deals and elaborate on how they see Eminem's Role in the project. While the group says that there aren't full tracks done yet for the album, some skeletals have been built and they have had Jam session with Em. While they haven't had a chance to work with Yelawolf creatively too much they have got a chance to rock a couple shows together which has helped them build a camaraderie as Shady label mates.

Nick brought up Joe Buddens' twitter post about Frank Ocean's Novacane song and immediately the group started laughing. Royce says he liked the song too but didn't want to hear it 80 times in a row (Royce and Joe were roommates for the tour). The funny part is that Joe said he probably wouldn't jump on the track because Frank's fans wanted him to leave it alone but a by the time we posted this video Budden has already jumped on the track (Ordinary Love Shit Pt. 3) which you can preview during the credits.

Yelawolf's Hometown Hit by Catastrophic Tornado

As several communities in the South continue to cope with the catastrophic tornadoes sweeping through several states and leveling neighborhoods, rapper Yelawolf is speaking out on the natural disaster.

A native of Gadsen, Ala., the rapper took to his Twitter page to reveal that his town had been hit by one of the many twisters which have since claimed the lives of over 200 people in the state. "A tornado just hit my hometown of Gadsden Al," he wrote. "My Family survived .. There are over 30 reported fatalities Gadsden I love you .. I'm so sorry. Life in the south has never been easy. To the families who lost a loved one in the storm .. Sending my love." theboombox

According to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Organization, an estimated 173 tornadoes hit the southern region Wednesday (April 27). NOAA noted the massive increase in twisters as the biggest outbreak since 1974 which clocked over 300 fatalities, but below the current record set in March of 1925 when 695 people died.

Among the hardest hit was the town of Tuscaloosa, Ala., where 32 people were reported dead as of yesterday morning, a death toll that is expected to rise in the days to come. "I would estimate on a three-to-four-mile stretch of the city, at some parts more than a half-mile wide," said Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox. "We have utter destruction. We have neighborhoods that have basically been removed from the map."

Yelawolf joins Wu-Tang Clan's Summer UK Tour

Wu-Tang Clan have announced details of their first UK tour in four years.

The hip-hop collective of RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa will perform five dates.

The gigs kick off with two dates at the HMV Forum in London on June 11 and 12, followed by gigs in Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester.

GZA said: “I feel really great about this tour and I love to perform in the UK. The British fans can expect lots of energy and we’ll be bringing our best, as we always do.

“We’re really excited about all performing together again and definitely looking forward to it.”

The tour will include support from Young Dirty B*astard – the son of Ol' Dirty B*stard – and new Shady Records signing Yelawolf.

RUPA spends $95K for Friday concert lineup

The Rutgers University Programming Association (RUPA) spent a total of $95,000 for this Friday's Rutgersfest concert lineup, which includes Pitbull, 3OH!3 and Yelawolf.

"The amount we spend on talent only went up to what it had to," said Lori Smith, assistant director of student centers and programs at the University. "It's a pretty cost-effective event. We expect 20,000 to 30,000 people to come out to Rutgersfest."

Smith said although the event is free to members of the University community through the funding of mandatory student fees, the cost per person at the event is low.

For rapper Pitbull, RUPA paid $50,000 while they spent $35,000 for electronic duo 3OH!3 to perform, she said. In an effort to bring an up-and-coming act to Rutgersfest, RUPA paid Alabama-based rapper and Eminem's new protégé Yelawolf $10,000.

"I think he'll be big and has a lot of potential," Smith said. "We got Ludacris and Kanye West before they were huge. It's a fun, strategic thing the committee members get to do, figure out who's going to make it."

Ana Castillo, president of RUPA, agreed that Yelawolf has potential.

"I've heard a lot of inklings about him. He has a pretty big underground following," she said. dailytargum

Smith said the fees they spent on performers are average compared to the asking prices of other acts that perform at colleges.

Ludacris, who played at 20 different schools this year, costs between $70,000 and $75,000, she said. Meanwhile Kesha, who had 10 dates this year, costs $50,00 to $100,000.

"It's interesting, we range in the kind of upper-middle class in terms of school level and cost of bands," Smith said.

Smith, who always hears requests for Lady Gaga to play Rutgersfest, said the performer charges anywhere from $500,000 to $1 million.

"3OH!3 is also playing at the University of Massachusetts and the University of Southern Florida around now," she said. "It's hard at this time because we're up against Coachella and Bamboozle, and a lot of people don't start their tours until the summer."

Rutgersfest also provides an opportunity for this year's Battle of the Bands winner Dirty Mac to play a large-scale concert, said Castillo, a School of Arts and Sciences senior.

"Sometimes it's the first chance for a student band to perform in a huge setting and to be in front of that many people. It's a great beginning of a career," she said.

Smith encourages those who are unfamiliar with the bands in the lineup to come to Rutgersfest on Busch campus.

"It's a free concert, an opportune time to investigate new music," she said. "I see a lot of different bands that I didn't know before at Rutgersfest. You find out you like the music."

RUPA's Concerts and Coffeehouses committee starts planning the lineup for Rutgersfest in May, almost a year before the event takes place, Castillo said.

"The students do a significant amount of research to see who's starting a tour and if it matches up with our date," Smith said. "They work with a middle agent who knows the trends and who is on tour."

The event, which usually took place in the Yellow Lot on the Livingston campus, will be at Yurcack Field and the surrounding areas on Busch, Castillo said.

"There's more space to use on Busch, it'll seem bigger," she said. "It's a grass field, so the ground is softer. There's less asphalt for you to crack your head open on if you do something crazy."

Smith said RUPA does not only invest in entertainment for the event, but also in security and safety.

"We want the event to be as safe as possible," she said. "We want the student body to have a good time but not get injured or hurt, so we try to provide as safe of an environment as possible."

RUPA members will be stationed at bus stops Friday to prevent students from pouring out into the streets when waiting for buses, the encouraged mode of transportation, Smith said.

"There's not a lot of parking on Busch, and there are normal parking rules in effect for the day as well as road closings," she said. "We added shuttles that take people from College Avenue to the concert site."

Aside from the Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) that will be patrolling campus, RUPA has hired around 20 to 40 extra security guards to stand at the front of the stage, Smith said.

Rhonda Harris, chief of the RUPD, said the department is coordinating with the New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) for after the concert shuts down.

"We'll have 35 extra officers in the evening hours," she said. "That doesn't count the concert itself. Both the RUPD and NBPD limit officers from taking personal days on Rutgersfest."

Harris said the departments would be on the look out for alcohol-related incidents and fights after the festival in the 5th and 6th wards of New Brunswick, as Rutgersfest draws in a large crowd of people not affiliated with the University.

Smith said NBPD officers would be a significant force off-campus, looking for fire code violations like too many people at house parties and too many people on rooftops in New Brunswick, where the houses are old and not strong enough to support them.

RUPA also wants students to drink responsibly on Friday and stay hydrated with water in between drinks.

"We expect a certain amount of drinking to happen that day — we're not telling them not to," Castillo said. "Don't get too wasted. You won't remember you were there. We want to make sure that the reputation of Rutgersfest doesn't get out of hand."

Harris encourages students to use their judgment for Rutgersfest.

"Enjoy the day but remain aware of the surroundings, and call the police to report suspicious activity or anyone who is behaving in an aggressive manner," she said.

Castillo said RUPA is confident that the three-artist concert lineup will be a hit.

"Just from the response since we announced the lineup during our Michael Jackson tribute event, the amount of screaming and yelling and jumping, gave us an idea of how excited people will be," she said. "Dance music will make it a different kind of experience from past Rutgersfests."
